I was able to find some door sweep brush material https://www.fastcap.com/estore/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=53770&idcategory=28 to make up my dust shoe. The rubber is a bit stiff to work with but does hold the brush material well. I bought the 4" but after testing things out (see pictures )  I suggest the 2" unless you want to trim it down for your own set up.

I also changed over to 4" hose. The dust pick up was way better than the shop vac hose.

I used 1/2" plywood for the bottom plate so that I could attach the brush.

For those that don't know who that is.

Laney S. is DWC Salesman/Service guy. He works with customers.
He is awesome with the software and will take the time to make sure you understand how it works :).

Laney was  great help for me with setting up my carve the proper way. He also helped me with setting up my cnc usb controller software on my new computer that I had to get so I could run this project. My "way old" lap top would not even load the finishing tool path. His instructions were very clear and helpful. We logged several hours on the phone and with the remote access to my computer he was able to teach me a lot of things I did not know about.

Well I am a newbie with the DWC! Just over a year now so still much in the learning curve. Even though I have been using the CarveWright since 2007 there are lots of things to learn in the standard cnc world that the CW does in the background.

I have not posted any of my bear carve on the CW forum but have it up on my FB page... https://www.facebook.com/RingNeckBlues/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1281872718497358

With LOTS of help from Laney I was able to learn the process for setting up a model carve. This is the middle part of a door panel, it will be glued up to another panel for a total thickness of about 2" and then trimmed out for the door. It will have a window above the bear. The wood is beetle kill pine.

Just a shout out to Laney for the great help he gave to me today. Things became clearer a lot more after spending some time with him.

I guess no one has any clue either.. HMMMM

Vectric Aspire 2.5D / 3D / Help needed in setting up a raster carve
« on: July 05, 2016, 07:00:54 PM »
I have done a boat load of vector and pocket cuts and very few raster type carves. The raster carves I have done were very small sized but still took way longer than expected. Most likely do to the settings I used in setting up the carve.

Now I have a large project in want to do. It is a grizzly bear breaking through a door. See image... This will be done for an actual door for a good friend.

What I need is some guidance for best settings to use.

I am using Aspire for the design and tool path set up and cnc usb controller software at the machine.

The new format looks great!

Thanks sir! I just checked my tracking number and see it arrived late yesterday at the shipping center. No phone call today though. I will give then till 10 am to call me and then I will be calling them.

Looking forward to the phone call that my new machine is at the shipping center so I can go pick it up and add it to my shop.

A little about me.....

I  have 2 CarveWright machines (owned since 2007) and I am a independent sales rep  for the CW system. I also make and sell the dust collection attachment THE DC-INSERT for the machine. Do not look for me to be pushing the system here on the DWC forum but more that willing to answer any questions anyone might have about it..  ::) I also dabble in the 2 1/2D /  3D pattern making.

I am adding the DWC to my shop so that I can expand and have the capability to do more aggressive type projects that are more suitable to the larger cnc machines.

Now off to start learning....
