Now that I've tried to help, I'm offering unsolicited advice ;)
I'm presently backing up all of my bobcad and dxf files on Google Drive and all photo images on Google Photos.  It's free and allows you access even when away from home...

In CNC USB there is an "Export Toolpath to DXF" option under the File menu.  That feature does not work on my Windows 10 laptop which is not connected to the Digital Wood Carver.   It does work when using my XP Pro laptop connected to the DWC.

 Maximum dimensions are 17" x 17" x 1 1/2" thick.  Carved in basswood slab.

I have a small collection of dxf files shared on Google Drive.  Most I collected, some I drew from scratch.

Enjoy :)

General DWC Questions / Re: Pricing Signs
« Last post by Butch Elrod on January 03, 2017, 06:35:18 PM »
It seems to me that 'machine time' should be part of the equation since sans serif fonts require less time to carve than serif fonts.

Unusual materials, like live edge boards or burl slices, are a consideration but find them difficult to give a value since I make, rather than buy, mine.

Project Showcase / What price would you set?
« Last post by Butch Elrod on January 03, 2017, 03:52:20 PM »
Thinking about setting a price for my Second Amendment plaque.

Considerations:
The 2" thick, live edge wood isn't available in the regular lumber yard.
I have about an hour of machine time invested.
We don't want to talk about how long it took me to do the BobCAD work.  LOL
I predict that after just one of these, the V-tool will need sharpening or replacing.
Second Amendment items are becoming more popular than ever.
Additional time and materials are required to seal the piece.
I'll probably need to attach some sort of hangar (time and material) before marketing it.

Did I overlook anything?

WHAT WOULD YOU CHARGE?

Amendment II
A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.

Comma placement as ratified by the States which is different than the Continental Congress version.
Stock was flattened with a 1.25" cutter (zig zag pocketing) and text was carved with a 60 degree, 2 flute cutter.

22" x 13 1/2" x 2" thick.  Live edge, rough sawn.  Still needs a little  sanding and sealing.

Hey Al,

Are all of these same videos on your YouTube channel?  I prefer to watch on the 'big screen' using Roku when possible so I can follow in BobCAD on my laptop. :)
