Lasers
« on: July 29, 2015, 11:07:35 AM »
Anyone considered swapping the spinde or adding a laser? I have a laser and driver I'm reworking from another machine. And I see there is some software available that will play nice with Mach3 but my machine uses USBCNC.

I have one customer that is trying this but don't know how its going. USBCNC can do it.

I did some testing, there tends to be some vibrations that spray the beam a bit. I ended up buying a China machine and modifying it to get 2000mm/sec. I think with a little platform reworking, you can make a Digital woodcarver laser.

I am curious as  to this vibration issue. Moreso, I  am interested in  being able to shore up my DWC to not have such vibrations.
I can see it in the carving I am doing at the moment: chattering on the edges of  letters, for example.
