Help Please
« on: December 22, 2015, 11:09:33 AM »
I am trying to get my DWC up and running. I have the PC connected to the controller and everything seems ok, but when I import a gcode file from vectric vcarve to USBCNC and hit play the router instantly goes all the way up on its z and tries to force past its limit. It then starts cutting around 3 inches above the worksurface. I assume it is because it is thrown off axis when it limits out on the z axis. Any ideas why it might be doing this?

Are you setting the z 0  to top of part?

Yes I am zeroing out the z on top of part, and in the corner specified in the vcarve toolpath.

I am unsure as to the issue then. I use Bobcad and I know that there is a way to offset the z in the cad side. Maybe Vectric has same type setting. Have you tried another gcode that is known to work to see the results?

I ran the update to usbcnc and added the new settings file. Now everything is working flawlessly. Can't wait to start some more projects. Thanks for all the help.
