reduce excessive toolpath marks from wood
« on: September 27, 2016, 02:20:58 PM »
I use my 1/8 ballnose bit for a lot of detail and especially 3d carvings. I seem to however, get a lot of toolpath markings on my finish. I see many projects similar to mine that show little to no markings.
How can I minimize these marks without having to sand excessively.

My settings are 0.125 diameter with a 10% stepover
spindle speed at 12000 rpm
feed rate at 125
plunge rate at 35, these set at in/min

Also most of my work is pine

I can include a sample via email to show the marking on my project background upon request
Any help or feedback greatly appreciated

I don't see a photo but I m sure that most of your problems stem from using  soft wood like pine.
